Mama's Unwinding

One of my favorite ways to unwind and stay sane is a girl's night out.  Recently I had a fun night out with my bestie Gina at The Elephant Bar Fresno.  We were welcomed by the warmest staff and got to enjoy cocktails and grub.  Elephant Bar has introduced their new menu which improves upon old time favorites using scratch methods and high quality items.  There are new food items, craft cocktails, a wine list and brunch cocktails.  Every ingredient is made from scratch including salad dressings; nothing comes from a can or from the freezer.  The only exception is their cheesecake which is made out of house.

We started the night off with cocktails of course and I had the best cocktail, the Jungle Colada.  It was like teleporting to Hawaii!  Gina tried a Tito's Mule and a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini; I wasn't a fan of either to be honest but I could have had several of the Jungle Colada.  While we enjoyed our drinks we ordered an appetizer to share.  We decided to try the Quick-Seared Ahi Tuna which was a light and fresh appetizer that started things off perfectly.  At our server's suggestion we then ordered our main course of Teriyaki Chicken and Chicken Marsala.  They looked delicious but both were average overall.  No night out is complete without satisfying the sweet tooth so we tried the Gooey Butter Cake and Cookie Ele Mode.  Honestly we probably should have ordered one or no dessert items because we were so full but my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. Since we were almost maxed out we only took a couple bites of each.  The Gooey Butter Cake was pretty good but the Cookie Ele Mode was to die for.  I finished every last bit of it the next day!

I would recommend the Jungle Colada, Quick-Seared Ahi Tuna, and Cookie Ele Mode the next time you visit your local Elephant Bar.  I was most impressed with the team at Elephant Bar and the service they provided.  They treated us very nicely and were very knowledgeable about all the menu items.
