For years I've been into the statement necklace but I think this year is all about the dainty necklace. I also LOVE taking dainty necklaces and layering them. I recently received the Gold Dainty Nugget necklace from Ava Hope Designs and it's perfect for my current style. Ava Hope Designs offers classic, fun, and everyday jewelry including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, bridal accessories, and more.
Terri from Ava Hope Designs is the creator and designer which she started in 2011 after her sister delivered twins at 23 weeks. One of her sweet nieces became an angel after 37 days on earth. Ava Hope Designs donates $1 to the Birgham & Women NICU in Ava Hope's memory. To date she has donated over $9000. I love working with other working moms, entrepreneurs, and companies but this company really touched my heart. My hope is that not only will you love the products offered but feel good about your purchase because there is a cause behind each item.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
I have three loves of my life…my two kids, ages 13 & 11 and my husband of 16 years. Spending time with my family is so precious to me. I have a degree in accounting which helps in the business side of my Etsy store. My passions include interior design, fashion and beauty products. I love the beach and vacationing with my family.
Please tell us a little bit about your company and how you got started:
I started Ava Hope Designs to give back to the Brigham & Women NICU in Boston. Five years a go, my sister had twins @ 23 weeks. Ava Hope was 1.6 ounces and Emma Faith was 1.8 ounces. The doctors and nurses fought so hard to save their lives. Sadly, Ava Hope passed away after 38 days of precious life. Miraculously, they saved her sister. Emma is a happy & healthy 5 year old. I wanted to give back to the NICU and keep Ava's memory alive. So I started a jewelry business on Etsy and I'm amazed at how much it has grown. I have received so many thoughtful messages from customers who have had a similar loss or their sons/daughters have spent time in the NICU. The doctors and nurses truly are miracle workers and my family will be forever grateful for their dedication and hard work.
What has been your greatest lesson in running your own business?
My greatest lesson in running my own business is to never give up. I actually started this business making preemie clothes and scarfs which didn't work out. But I started making jewelry and an hour after I posted my first listing, I had an order! I've never looked back. I'm so grateful for this opportunity on Etsy. I love the community and customers. I feel that I belong here.
What is your greatest tip for entrepreneurs?
My tip for entrepreneurs is to disconnect. It’s easy to lock yourself in a room and work all day. Disconnecting can give your brain the necessary reset it may need to be creative. Having an at home business can be isolating. I take an hour out of each day to go to group classes and exercise. It clears my mind and allows me to be social.
What does your normal day look like?
My average day…responding to Etsy convos first thing, getting my kids to school, exercising, fulfilling orders, house work, driving my kids to after school sports, dinner, responding to more emails and then fall into bed!! It's a busy day but I LOVE it.
