Introducing 1st Quality Produce

I don't know about you but supporting local is really important to me. I also like knowing that the food I'm feeding my family is fresh and healthy. 1st Quality Produce can satisfy those two important pieces for me. They are a "wholesale produce company, fresh-cut processor and distributor of fresh, quality produce." 1st Quality Produce has been in business since 1989 and currently employs approximately 80 employees. I was lucky enough to tour their facilities and meet some staff and I was greatly impressed with their operation. I took home a Farm to Family fresh produce box and a fresh cut Fajita Blend. You can shop on their website for a Farm to Family box, fresh cut items, party trays, and fresh kits. You then can pick up your items at their warehouse or several locations around town including Lululemon, Bar Method, and Old Town Clovis Farmer's Market to name a few. The produce is extremely fresh eliminating the middle man and far cheaper than most grocery stores. 1st Quality Produce tries to select their produce from California whenever possible. With a Farm to Family box you can choose from a list of produce or you can choose their box of the month. I built my own and noticed CA labels on some of the produce. This was a huge win if you ask me. For instance, the raspberries were from Watsonville and I can't remember the last time I saw CA raspberries at my grocery store. All of the produce seemed so crisp, vibrant, and fresh to me which is something I do not notice in the stores.

Another win for me was the Fajita Blend. I am such a busy working mama that I frequently dread dinner prep. This blend cuts out a huge amount of time cutting all of the produce. I just opened the package and thru in the pan for sauteing. I also pulled out a few of the sliced onions to make Mexican rice as a side dish. The flavors were wonderful and the dinner was a hit.
